A Prairie Home Companion
A Prairie Home Companion: 30th Anniversary Celebration

Director: Joe Brandmeier
Year: 2004

(I got this from Netflix thinking that it would be the 2006 fictional movie based on Garrison Keillor's radio show.)

This movie is a filming of A Prairie Home Companion's 30th anniversary show. Essentially, you're watching a radio show being produced and I'm sure it would be really interesting if you were actually sitting in the Fitzgerald Theater but I was sitting on my couch (in my 82 degree apartment) and it was kind of boring.

I enjoyed watching how the radio sound effects were produced and I enjoyed watching Garrison Keillor do his (old man) shuffle but overall I am usually more entertained doing my dishes on Sunday morning and listening to A Prairie Home Companion on the radio.

Would I recommend this movie?

No (but my white twenty-something liberal NPR listening self feels bad for saying that).
